Who will represent The Philippines at Miss Multinational 2023?

Who will represent The Philippines at Miss Multinational 2023?

After its 4-year long hiatus, Miss Multinational will be returning with its 3rd edition set to take place in Vietnam in April 2023. Launched in 2017, Miss Multinational is an Indian-grown beauty pageant that aims to empower women all across the world.

A relatively new pageant, its local franchise holder is the Miss World Philippines Organization. From 2017 to 2021, it was one of the main crowns on the roster. However, with the uncertainty of the pageant’s status since 2019, the title was removed in 2022.

Following the announcement of the pageant’s return, people began discussing who will be our representative. With this only two come to mind—former Miss Multinational Philippines titleholders Isabelle De Leon and Shaila Rebortera.

While MWO has yet to release an update regarding the matter, who among the two has the better chance?

Miss Multinational Philippines 2023 will be?

Technically, it should be Shaila considering that she is the most recent Miss Multinational Philippines, winning the crown in 2021.

Shaila, who is 26 years old and from Talisay City, Cebu is a licensed dentist as well as a pageant veteran. Aside from Miss Multinational Philippines, Shaila also has two other titles under her name, namely Miss Millennial Philippines 2018, and Sinulog Festival Queen 2018.

Even though Shaila’s chances of being appointed are undoubtedly high, Isabelle De Leon shouldn’t be disregarded.

Crowned as Miss Multinational Philippines 2019, Isabelle has been waiting for so long to represent the country. Isabelle was set to compete at Miss Multinational which should have taken place in 2020 but was canceled due to the pandemic.

Working as an actress, she is best known for her role as Duday in GMA-7’s sitcom Daddy Di Do Du. She also won a FAMAS Best Child Actress award for her role in Magnifico (2003).

Verdict

If we ever do send someone to the pageant, in the end, it really depends on MWO’s decision. With both ready and hungry to wear the Philippine sash, it’s still anyone’s game at this point.

Having a strong record at Miss Multinational so far, we first won our crown during the inaugural edition in 2017. This was done by actress and model Sophia Senoron.

In 2018, Kimilei Mugford might not have won a back-to-back win, but she did end up placing in the Top 5.

With only less than 5 months before the pageant begins, it’s very interesting to see who will be the chosen one. And with that, best of luck to both of you, Isabelle and Shaila!
