Erik Matti’s new film, “On The Job: The Missing 8” will compete and have its world premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival. It will take place from September 1 to 11, 2021.

In an ABS-CBN news report, Arcilla expressed that he feels proud because Venice Film Fest recognized their work. In addition, the actor said that the film took three years to complete and that the pandemic had also affected the production.

On The Job: The Missing 8 depicts the story of a radio journalist and a hitman-inmate
On The Job: The Missing 8 is the sequel to Matti’s highly praised action movie On The Job. Release in 2013, it starred Gerald Anderson, Joel Torre, and Piolo Pascual.
In the sequel, Arcilla plays the role of Sisoy. A radio broadcaster involved in a web of criminal activity and political intrigue. Moreover, he will get entangled with a hitman-inmate Roman (Dennis Trillo). After eight individuals go missing, they will negotiate and rethink their loyalty to a well-known politician. It’s based on true events.
Moreover, the cast of On The Job: The Missing 8 includes Christopher De Leon, Lotlot De Leon, Vandolph Quizon, and Dante Rivero. Andrea Brillantes, Leo Martinez, Agot Isidro, Eric Fructuoso, Wendell Ramos, Megan Young, Isabelle De Leon, and Levi Ignacio will also appear in the film.
Furthermore, On The Job: The Missing 8 is the sole Philippine entry in a competition alongside 20 of the world’s top filmmakers.
