Like a Polaroid Love: ENHYPEN expresses love for PH ENGENEs at BYS Fun Meet
It’s definitely a polaroid love for PH ENGENEs after ENHYPEN’s first visit to Manila for the BYS Fun Meet at Araneta Coliseum last December 3. Prior to the main event, the rising K-POP boy band expressed their love for their fans at the Press Conference at Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas.
Covered in denim and broad smiles, ENHYPEN greeted members of the media and vlogging community hours before the fun meet. They first discussed how welcoming PH ENGENEs are when they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
“There were lots of fans waiting for us there,” they expressed through an interpreter. “It was really nice to see them last night in such close range.”
Their dedication to the music craft is fueled by the support they get from ENGENEs. They serve as their main inspiration and motivation to continue improving.
“As an artist, you cannot just stay wherever you are. If you just capture yourself and block yourself to possibilities, you’re not able to satisfy your fans,” Jay said.
He added that this is also why they continuously try different things so fans can discover new sides of themselves to appreciate. “I think it’s an assignment for us to show different genres and styles and to keep on trying and exploring.”
BYS Fun Meet at Araneta Coliseum
With light sticks in their hands, PH ENGENEs flocked to Araneta Coliseum to support members Jungwon, Jake, Sunoo, Jay, Heesung, Sunghoon, and Ni-ki.
Just as ENHYPEN expressed their love for their fans, they also did the same by showing their support through cheers and a surprise fan-made video.
“I’ve never expected to see this amount of love from you guys,” they said. “Mahal ko kayo, ENGENE.”
BYS Cosmetics, partnered with Wilbros Live, made the event possible as a part of their 10th-anniversary celebration.
Rising K-POP boy band ENHYPEN
When host Korena Sam Oh introduced the band, she mentioned that their name is inspired by the hyphen (–). Just like the punctuation, ENHYPEN’s ambitious goal is to connect the world through music.
During the press conference, the group talked about their humble beginnings as well as where they are now.
“We are from a reality show,” Leader Jungwon mentioned, referring to I-LAND. “Because of that, we are different in various ways, you know, the way we sing, the way we do choreographies. Our attractive points are all different. But when we actually go up on stage, we get together and we become one unit. I think that’s the biggest strength we have as a group.”
When asked about their musical influence, Sunoo replied, “Performance-wise, I guess the role model and the biggest musical influence that I could say is BTS. And of course, as a group, we’ll do our best and exert more effort to have such influence and such good musical performance.”
ENHYPEN will go back to SM Mall of Asia Arena on February 4-5, 2022 as part of their Manifesto World Tour. Tickets will be available starting this December 10.
