Located along Shoe Avenue, Brgy. Sto. Niño, the Marikina Cityhood Park, is yet another open space public attraction to visit. The public park features the city’s iconic landmark, the 12-meter concrete monument, the clock tower arch. The arch exhibits a huge analog clock and has 12 windows where Italian bells that are said to chime nationalistic music are hung. Additionally, the park also features a fountain at the center that lights up during the night. Hence, it is highly suggested to pay the place a visit at night!

Final Words Before You Visit Marikina City

Besides being known for the many shoe products they produce and the rich history surrounding the area, Marikina City is also known for its cleanliness. In fact, in 2021, the city received the prestigious ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable Cities Award which recognizes the city’s exemplary efforts to keep ASEAN cities clean, green, and livable. Hence, as tourists, we must be conscious of proper waste disposal and follow local practices in caring for their city. May we also practice this discipline not only when visiting Marikina, but also in our local towns.
