WATCH: ABS-CBN reveals the first teaser of Mars Ravelo’s Darna
On Sunday, December 19, ABS-CBN’s RB Creative Production finally revealed a glimpse of the much-anticipated adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV series.
The 45-second clip featured some of the highlights of the series. The teaser unveiled a sequence of actions executed by Darna herself, Jane de Leon. Its early scene showed Narda accepting the magical stone from Iza Calzado’s role that transforms her into a superhero.
Moreover, the clip exposed scenes featuring de Leon’s leading man, Joshua Garcia. He will play the role of the police officer Brian Samonte Robles.
Also, it captured Janella Salvador who is about to take the remarkable character of the supervillain Valentina.
Darna’s powerhouse cast
Some of the notable celebrities are also joining the series’ powerhouse cast.
In 2019, Jane de Leon was unanimously handpicked to portray the title role. Among the several actresses who auditioned, she took the spot after the withdrawal of Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin.

Meanwhile, last October 5, 2021, ABS-CBN released the poll of the cast joining the iconic television series. It includes some of the biggest names in the industry, including Zaijian Jaranilla, Simon Ibarra, Kiko Estrada, and more.
The former Darna Rio Locsin will also be part of the new adaptation.
Set to premiere this 2022
As of now, there is no specific date regarding the release of the series. Based on the teaser, ABS-CBN will premiere its masterpiece this upcoming 2022.
Last November 15, the production already started to roll at ABS-CBN’s ‘Hollywood-standard‘ sound stages in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
The veteran filmmaker Chito Rono will also helm the legacy of Mars Ravelo.
