SB19, Among BTS, ENHYPEN in the Midyear Ranking of Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs
Joining global K-Pop icons, P-Pop group SB19 is among the midyear top-ranking artists on the Hot Trending Songs chart by Billboard.
On April 20, the American music entertainment magazine revealed the semi-annual ranking of its new chart, the Hot Trending Songs. To where the 5-piece Filipino boy group crossed paths with the distinguished music personalities, BTS and ENHYPEN.
Historically, the occasion of keeping pace with industry legends in a prestigious ranking is no news for SB19. Last year, the leading quintet contested against prominent music names like BLACKPINK and Ariana Grande for the Top Social Artist award.
Hot Trending Songs is a new category introduced by Billboard in October 2021. It has been tracking trends and conversations related to music as discussed on Twitter globally. To add, Billboard presents its real-time data and reliable chart tabulation both with daily and weekly coverage.
Not long ago, SB19 became the second group to upswing the number 1 ranking since the inaugural of the chart. Their song Bazinga stayed for seven weeks straight at the top of Hot Trending Songs. As made possible by their A’TIN, this is the reason why Billboard recognized them in the ‘half-birthday’ celebration of the category.
Furthermore, SB19 is also the only act to break the winning streak of BTS, named for its steady success. The thriving hexad holds the Hot Trending Song record for the most weeks spent placing first with multiple entries.
Meanwhile, South Korean boyband ENHYPEN was also honored by Billboard as the act with the most hits charted. With seven songs in total, they are ahead of BTS, Stray Kids, MONSTA X, and more as follow.
