LIST: My Fave K-Dramas of all time
Whenever I have the time I really watch K-Dramas, to kill time and ease my boredom. This interest started during my late Junior High School years, and eventually became my hobby during the pandemic. Although, I actually prefer watching the light and romantic-comedy types of series. It just boosts my happy hormones.
So, I’m sharing with you my favorite K-Dramas of all time.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim
On top of my list would be a series from my ultimate Korean crush, Park Seo Joon. This 2018 rom-com drama series was one of Seo Joon’s famous works. I just love the storyline which revolves around the life of an heir, Lee Young Joon (Park Seo-Joon), and his secretary, Kim Mi So (Park Min-Young).
Crash Landing on You
Next on my list would be the top romantic K-Drama series in 2019-2020, Crash Landing on You (CLOY). Aside from its unique and fascinating storyline, I love how the main and supporting actors played their roles perfectly. The chemistry between Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin is just immaculate. I definitely cried a bucket of tears for this drama. I also got CLOY fever for more than a week after finishing the whole series. Honestly, this was the reason why I got hooked on watching K-Dramas. I totally recommend this. 10/10 for me. So, if you have not watched this yet, you’re surely missing out on a masterpiece.
Hometown Cha Cha Cha
This K-Drama definitely portrayed a perfect slice of life. I love it because the plot is simple but filled with numerous life lessons. The characters, setting, and other elements were perfect in the story. I also cried so much in the latter part of the series. This was probably one of the best Korean dramas out there. I would totally recommend this! Such a relatable, refreshing, and healing rom-com series I’ve watched.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo
This 2022 K-Drama was well-written. The acting was so good. Particularly Park Eun Bin who portrayed the role of Attorney Woo. I liked how each episode had a unique case to be solved. Also, all the other elements were beautifully done. Honestly, this was one of the series that was beyond the usual genre I would look for in a Korean drama. And I was so glad I watched this.
Touch Your Heart
Although the plot seems cliche, it holds a special place in my heart because of how good the cast is. Watching this series will definitely make you happy. Plus, the chemistry of the main lead was just perfect. I’m a fan of Lee Dong Wook! Such a great actor. Also, the OST was amazing! I recommend this K-Drama if you crave something light and heartwarming.
18 Again
Far from my usual go-to genre, 18 Again captured my heart because of the life lessons I got throughout the series. The characters, storyline, and overall execution were just amazing. This was the time I got interested in Lee Do-Hyun and Wi Ha-Joon. Both of them have been added to my Korean boyfriends! Kidding aside, I also recommend this series!
Start-up
I actually watched this because it was trending on Netflix at that time. And honestly, I was not disappointed at all. The storyline was unique and very inspirational, especially for all aspiring business owners. The casting was also great! I was actually rooting for Han Ji-Pyeong (Kim Sun-Ho), to be with Seo Dal-Mi (Bae Suzy) in the end game. The second lead syndrome is real! But, I still love this series! And the music here is superb. In fact, I even saved the entire playlist on my Spotify account!
Business Proposal
I love this K-Drama despite the cliche story. The characters portrayed their role perfectly. The chemistry was just amazing. Also, I love how the drama gave importance to their friendships. Although the ending was a bit short, I would still recommend this especially when you just want something stress-free and lighthearted series.
True Beauty
This webtoon adaptation had a common storyline, but I still liked it. Also, I had a second lead syndrome in this series. I discovered my love for Hwang In-Yeop here. Of course, I won’t forget about Cha Eun-Woo. Overall, I still recommend this KDrama if you’re into watching feel-good rom-com series.
If I have the time, I will totally binge-watch my favorite K-Dramas of all time.
Erika loves her time being alone but equally enjoy working as part of a team. As a writer, she always wants to have a draft first and then just rewrite everything once it's done and finalized. She is quite outspoken and prefer reading texts out loud. Her favorite things include watching rom-com films/shows, eating sweets, and singing.
