Let the 2022 Pride Month Begin!
No Pride for some of us withouth the liberation for all of us.

Once again it’s the month of June. This means one thing for all the queers, gays, and our non-binary pals, we welcome the PRIDE MONTH 2022! The celebration starts on the first day of June and ends on its last day. This month-long event is a commemoration of people in the LGBTQIA+ community who have fought for and are continuously fighting for inclusive and equal rights.
Soon, the world will hear the marching band and the people singing a song of seething indignation. Moreover, the streets are expected to be filled with extravagant people, colors of the rainbow, and loud and intense roars. Indeed, this month will never just be a celebration. It has always been a protest.
On June 28, 1970, when people observed the first pride event. Behind it is a bisexual activist, Brenda Howard. Eventually, their contribution to the event was recognized, and they were hailed as the “Mother of Pride”. Without a doubt, the event is very important to the LGBTQIA+ community considering its cataclysmic history. Soon, we will be commemorating its history for exactly 53 years now.
Aside from the United States, communities from countries all over the world have recognized the celebration of Pride month every sixth month of the year. Afterward, many countries joined the call for inclusive and equal rights. In addition to that, they have also been organizing notable Pride events including Cologne Pride in Germany, Joburg Pride in South Africa, Tel Aviv Pride in Israel, and many more.

#BeyondPride: ‘You Are’ Campaign
This 2022, we invite you to celebrate this month with us. As we, the Village Pipol Magazine launch the #BeyondPride: ‘You Are’ Campaign, we invite you to come and join us. Let us embrace what has been concealed within and take pride in who ‘You Are’.
We in the VPM simultaneously launch #BeyondPride annually to commemorate Pride month. Through this campaign, we aim to encourage everyone to show their unique self. To know more about the campaign, just click here.
