Here are heartbreaking anime that will make you shed a tear:
Your Lie In April
Your Lie in April follows Arima Kousei, a piano prodigy who lost his ability to play after suffering a traumatic event—the death of her mother. The story takes an interesting turn as the free-spirited violinist Kaori Miyazono enters his life. She helps the male protagonist hear that music should not be performed in the regimented way his mother instilled in him. But rather, it should be played freely. Unfortunately, the joy that Kaori radiates only covers an impending tragedy.
Angel Beats!
Angel Beats! begins with a boy named Otonashi awakening to find that he died. Fortunately for him, a girl with a rifle explains that he has entered the afterlife. She commands a name-changing battlefront that opposes God and battles God’s henchwoman, the student body president Angel, who possesses supernatural abilities. After the true nature of the afterlife school is revealed, Otonashi and Angel start working to understand the significance of this limbo. Which enables those who have endured trauma and adversity in life to move on.
Plastic Memories
Both science fiction films and anime frequently feature the development of robotic technology. Only a few series, though, address the more upsetting aspects of this subject. Tsukasa Mizugaki and the android Isla tell the melancholic story about the transience of human and android life, as well as the emotions connected to AI. A must-watch for any fan of science fiction anime seeking something a little bit unique.
Assassination Classroom
The series centers on a very powerful octopus-like being called Koro-sensei, who works as a junior high homeroom teacher. He recently largely destroyed the moon, and unless the kids can stop him first, he’ll do the same to the Earth the following year. This begins several seasons’ worth of mischief and assassination attempts, all while he works to give the students better lives. The class of 3-E soon finds that the monster they are dealing with is not only powerful but also the best teacher they have ever had.
Grave of the Fireflies
The film, which takes place in the final days of World War II, tells the story of a boy named Seita and his younger sister Setsuko. The absence of their parents and home makes their lives more devastated during this historical event. Without any surviving relatives, they struggle to survive their hardship while looking for any rations and emergency funds. This film provides a very compelling account of the civilian side of 1945 Japan.
