Cats Behavior I Have Learned After Owning One
Dog owners will undoubtedly become familiar with the body language of their pets. They get used to their gesture after a while and begin to believe they are an expert on pets. However, you’ll be surprised by how different cats’ reactions and attitudes are if you decide to have one. In fact, some claim that at home, they act like a boss while dogs serve as a guard or a soft best friend.
Nevertheless, despite the challenging process of getting to know them, I could say that adopting a cat will be a wonderful experience.
Here are some things I have learned after owning one.
Cats’ so-called “Massage”
This one is the most adorable thing I have observed in my cat. He does this so-called “massage” every time he’s napping in my arms. After getting curious about it, I found out that kneading or “making biscuits” is their way of showing affection to their owners. They do it to show love and convey comfort. I just love how those tiny paws can melt our hearts.
The ‘I don’t care’ look
My dogs typically give me a little jump or wag their tails when I get home. Cats, however, don’t behave similarly. Well, that’s what I noticed. My cat simply gives me an uninterested face. If he’s in the mood, he might approach me and rub his head against my leg until I pet him. He occasionally meows after hearing my steps, though. So, if I were to compare him to people, I would say that he is simply shy.
“I’m not a pet, I’m the boss”
One thing I noticed about my cat is his ‘hobby’ of meowing early in the morning. There might be different reasons why cats do this. In my cat’s case, food is the only thing that would shut him up. I’m near to believing that cats were not adopted, they choose who their servants would be.
“Might say yes for a cuddle!”
There are times when my cat would jump out of my arms when I try to carry him. But when I don’t, and in the most unexpected situations, he would jump on my lap and position himself. Even while someone is eating, he jumps in and makes himself comfy since he loves to cuddle. Compared to dogs, I had the impression that cats get easily irritated and hate interaction but it turned out the opposite.
It will be challenging for you to understand cats’ behavior if you love dogs as much as I do. One requires a lifetime commitment, therefore we ought to get used to it. Read articles, look for something you’ve noticed, and make an effort to understand them. You would then be aware that cats, like dogs, are small creatures with loving hearts.
