Bazinga! Revisiting Memorable Episodes of The Big Bang Theory
BAZINGA! The Big Bang Theory just cracks us up. From comedy to drama to character development, the show gave us a wild ride throughout the entire series. The American sitcom ran for over twelve seasons, containing 279 episodes overall. I mean, if that isn’t popular enough then I don’t know what is. With their catchy theme song and comedic acts, it is no surprise that this show made its way into our hearts. Well, then, let us start our wacky up-and-down climb, going to and from Apartment No. 4-A. Let’s revisit our scientist gang from Pasadena California along with Penny and Howard, with comedic intention intended, by remembering seven of the most memorable episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
It all truly started with a Big Bang!
Season 3 Episode 8 | The Adhesive Duck Deficiency
We all love a good camping trip. Leonard, Howard, and Raj went out to camp and watch the meteor shower. Meanwhile, Sheldon stays at home. It turns out, on the other hand, during the camping, Howard met two older women wearing Grateful Dead shirts. They gave him cookies that he later shares with the group.
Back at the apartment, Penny cries for help as she dislocates her shoulder in the bathtub. Sheldon helps her out, raising her to the hospital. Later, Leonard, Howard, and Raj didn’t notice while consuming the cookie that it contains some marijuana. As time goes on in their camp, they went on a mind exploration trip forgetting the purpose of their camping.
After Sheldon takes Penny to the hospital for treatment, they went back to the apartment complex. A medically drugged-up Penny that came from pain relievers, then, asked Sheldon to sing Soft Kitty to her to cap off the episode. This episode contained comedic jokes that it doesn’t give you any time to breathe at all.
Season 4 Episode 1 | The Robotic Manipulation
This is the best season debut episode I have ever seen. Amy gets her second character introduction to the show. Meanwhile, Howard brings a robot hand that gives them Chinese food. Through chatting, on the other hand, Sheldon and Amy form a friendship where Penny teases them into being a romantic one.
As the episode progresses, on the other hand, Penny feels forced to take Sheldon and his not-so-girlfriend Amy out for dinner. Meanwhile, Howard finds a way to use a robot hand in another way. Soon after, Howard calls for help because of a dilemma he faces with the robot’s hand.
Furthermore, the subject of Sheldon and Amy’s dinner now focuses on Penny while Leonard and Raj make fun of Howard because the robot hand got stuck in his parts. They, then, take him to the hospital and went home afterward. To end the episode Howard calls Leonard again for help because he made a booboo again with the robot. The episode definitely shared its hilarity by debuting a plot with a BANG!
Season 4 Episode 11 | The Justice League Recombination
Penny gets back to her ex-boyfriend Zack to not feel lonely on New Year’s Day. Zack gets reintroduced by Penny to the group and the gang made fun of him leading him to feel mad.
Soon after, Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, and Raj apologized to Zack and invited him to the comic book store. With the group planning to join the comic book shops’ costume party on New Year’s Eve, they recruited Zack to join them and become one of the heroes that will give them first place in the contest.
As the episode progresses, the gang invites Penny as they swirl in and out comedic acts and superhero jokes throughout the episode. As Zack said to Penny, there is no “I” in the word Justice League. Clearly, those are words to live by.
Season 7 Episode 3 | The Scavenger Vortex
Nobody loves Raj’s murder mystery dinner party. So, he planned something else for the group. Raj introduced a scavenger hunt in which everyone wants to play. The best thing about this episode is kind of like breaking barriers.
Pairs are formed between the group which barely gets paired in a scene of the show, as they head and go around town playing the game. It also provides a change of pace for the viewers and a fresh comedic interaction between the pairs.
Finding what they have in common with one another and building trust makes this episode both wholesome and hilarious. Of course, never forget, that once you have fun then you are already a winner, making the scavenger hunt pointless for the group.
Season 7 Episode 9 | The Thanksgiving Decoupling
Howard invites the gang into his mother’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving with his Mother and Bernadette’s father. It’s a holiday and everyone believes it to be a joyous occasion for everyone. However, it turns into a blunder that leads to awkward situations.
As the day arrives, Penny shares her experience of Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with Zack, leaving the story in which both of them are actually married. This, of course, left Leonard shocked because they are dating.
Furthermore, Penny thought the marriage in those is a joke and not, in fact, real, even though it is. This, of course, continued a hellish day for both her and Leonard as they go to Howard’s home.
As Thanksgiving moves forward, Penny calls Zack to come for Thanksgiving. That way, they can fix their annulment. An extra side to this episode is the relationship of Howard with Bernadette’s father going southward. And, Sheldon slaved away and got drunk because of his forced attendance at Thanksgiving. This sums up a pretty much great way to spend Thanksgiving for them.
Season 11 Episode 24 | The Bow Tie Asymmetry
An episode containing one of the best character development results, comedy sketches, and emotional attachments to all of us. Plus, this episode consists of Mark Hamill, most famously known for his role in Star Wars as Luke Skywalker.
Moving back to the episode plot, who knew we will finally find the day when Sheldon gets married? His growth from the past seasons from being an unnerving and emotionless human to becoming a person that can care for another.
It just hits the spot where we feel happy and contented that this can be the best ending for the season. However, the cast decided to run it back for another season leading to the next memorable episode.
Season 12 Episode 24 | The Stockholm Syndrome
Wrapping up the long-running sitcom is a hard thing to do. As well all know, there is always an end to everything. Sharing the memories we all have down the line as we celebrate the end of a legendary show. Sheldon and Amy receive the Nobel Prize.
Soon after, they dine in their regular spot to celebrate the show’s final moments. What an emotional ending and a great way to celebrate the brilliance and dedication of the cast and production team toward the show.
The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom that cracks me up all the time.
In all honesty, I never pass by a day without watching an episode or two of the series. Once I hit the finish button, I always rewatch it from the very beginning. It just shows how much the sitcom means to me. Valuable lessons, fun experiences, great character development, etc. I can name so much more why I love the show.
Watching a sitcom after a hectic work day, a relaxing day, or even a study grind day, can definitely make the rest of the time you have throughout the day end with a bang. Want to revisit The Big Bang Theory? Or are you interested in watching the series? Fear not because they can be watched through the streaming platform Netflix.
