Styling the color purple in five different fashion aesthetics

Purple has always been a strange color to me. It’s a hard color to put on an outfit. However, I recently found out that it flatters any skin tone, especially brown skin just like mine. Despite being a color associated with royalty, it also looks romantic especially as it combines stability and energy. Although this was a challenge, it was a fun color to style.
With that said, let me style the color purple in five different fashion aesthetics:
cottagecore
This aesthetic requires long, loose-fitting, flowy dresses, and skirts. Aside from that, you can also incorporate puffy sleeves and handcrafted accessories. A lavender puffed sleeve knee-length dress would be perfect for this aesthetic. Complete the outfit with a pair of white Mary Jane heels and a white leather bag. Then, accessorize with a silver necklace, charm bracelet, hoop earrings, and a watch.

grunge
Grunge is particularly famous due to its wholly androgynous outfits. It invokes a sort of edge to their personality. Grabbing a purple tartan cropped top would be the best for this aesthetic. Of course, add a little bit of androgynous touch with a pair of loose black denim jeans, a similarly-colored oversized denim jacket, and platform combat boots. Then, accessorize with silver rings, studs, a watch, and a necklace.

streetwear
Recently, this aesthetic appeals to me more due to its comfort and individuality. So, grab a purple long-sleeved turtleneck, black cargo pants, a black cargo vest, and a pair of purple Nike dunks. Complete everything with a cargo bag and silver accessories.

academia
This aesthetic, on the other hand, is the one that made me love dressing up. Sweaters are a must for this aesthetic. So, wear a light purple sweater vest over a white mock neck long-sleeved top, a similarly-colored tennis skirt, and platform Mary Janes. Then, complete the entire outfit with silver accessories.

baddie
Baddies deserve to look elegant in green, too. Make sure to glam yourself up with a rocking outfit to match. A black long-sleeved corset top, a purple mini skirt, and a pair of platform knee-length boots would be perfect for this aesthetic. Then, accessorize with a pair of sunnies, gold hooped earrings, a watch, a layered necklace, and a mini leather bag.
