Jake Cuenca visits injured delivery rider in police chase incident

Jake Cuenca paid a visit to the delivery rider hit with a stray bullet during a car chase he had with the police.
A grateful encounter
The actor posted his meeting with the rider Eleazar Martinito last Sunday, November 6 on Instagram.
He wrote,
“Masaya ako na nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataon na madalaw si Eleazar Martinito, ang Grab driver na nasaktan sa isang insidenteng hindi ko malilimutan. Taos pusong pasasalamat sa mga pulis na tumulong sa iyo at naging tulay para makilala kita.”
Furthermore, Jake felt grateful to the Lord that Martinito felt better and had his family by his side.
“Labis ang aking pasasalamat sa Panginoong Diyos na nasa maayos kang kalagayan kasama ang iyong pamilya. Hangad ko ang iyong patuloy na kaligtasan at nawa’y makabalik agad sa iyong trabaho. Nandito lang ako para sa’yo Ely!”
An unforgettable incident
Last October 9, Jake got involved in a road accident with authorities, allegedly hitting a police vehicle in Mandaluyong.
According to authorities, he drove away after the incident, prompting them to chase after him.
Moreover, the police attempted to disable his car by shooting at its tire. This caused Martinito to get shot.
Also, Jake’s fellow actor Paulo Avelino defended him, stating how he did not drunk drive during the incident.
The police did not find anything illegal in the actor’s vehicle.
Furthermore, in an exclusive interview with TV Patrol, Jake clarified that an arrest did not take place.
Also, he explained his driving away, saying the policemen were in civilian clothes and had firearms.
“When you have civilians flagging down my car, armed civilians, flagging down my car with unmarked vehicles, my instinct talaga was to not stop, just to go forward, to just get away from trouble.”
Lastly, Jake told the news program how he wanted to extend a helping hand to Martinito and his family.
“Despite the police taking that responsibility, I also want to extend my hand. In any way, shape or form, if I can help him or his family, I’m willing to do that.”
