Drinking coffee and green tea every morning proves health benefits

Several pieces of research debate over breakfast is really the most important meal of the day. For us go-getters, we just couldn’t go on well with the day without our much-desired boost in the morning. Good thing, new research has shown that simply sipping on coffee and green tea is beneficial for our health!

BMJ Open Diabetes Research&Care posted a study that discovered how two cups of coffee and four or more cups of green tea give our bodies an extra layer of nutrients.

Remain cautious still as too much of this can lead to hazards.

“Higher educational or income levels may be associated with greater coffee consumption; they may also be related to lower mortality risk.”

We know that in times like this, as the workload gets heavier by the day, we want more than one cup of coffee/tea. Duty calls for it, not our fault, right? However, we just need to take them moderately to maintain our health in its tiptop shape.

There is another study according to the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, saying that a big breakfast burns twice as many calories as a big dinner.

“Our results show that a meal eaten for breakfast, regardless of the amount of calories it contains, creates twice as high diet-induced thermogenesis as the same meal consumed for dinner,” said the study’s corresponding author, Juliane Richter, M.Sc., Ph.D., of University of Lübeck in Germany. “This finding is significant for all people as it underlines the value of eating enough at breakfast.”

This is because our bodies expend energy every time we digest. It is recommended as well that patients with obesity as well as healthy people eat a large breakfast rather than a large dinner to reduce body weight and prevent metabolic diseases.
