Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado engaged, expecting first child
Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado recently had everyone talking about the big news of their engagement and their first baby.
The Kapuso couple made the announcement through a YouTube vlog titled “The Proposal” uploaded last Friday, October 29.
The vlog showed behind-the-scenes footage of the actor preparing for the big surprise for Mercado.
Also, Mercado posted Instagram photos from the proposal, saying,
“It’s always been a YES.”
Trillo and Mercado gave more details about the proposal in an episode of 24 Oras the same day.
Furthermore, the actress told the news program,
“Wala along ka-ide-idea kasi hindi na nga ako bumababa ng bahay, pero nung time na ‘yon, sabi sa’kin ni Dennis na bumaba kasi may shoot daw. Nagkaroon ako ng kutob nung nagsimula siyang magsalita kasi seryoso niya akong kinakausap tapos lumuhod.”
The couple also shared that they are expecting their first baby, with Mercardo saying,
“Positive ako. Nasa taping ako ng Love. Die. Repeat. so ito’y nangyari two months ago. Doon ko na-feel na parang medyo iba ako, eh. Medyo emosyonal ako, iba ‘yong pakiramdam ko…”
Moreover, she revealed how she is currently nine weeks pregnant.
The couple, who both have sons from past relationships, is hoping for a daughter this time.
On the other hand, they have yet to disclose details about their wedding.
In addition, Trillo and Mercado will celebrate their eighth anniversary in January 2022.
They first got together in 2010 but split in 2011. They got back together last 2014 and celebrated their seventh anniversary last January 2021.
