Zayn Malik speaks out: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid.”
A lot of people know Zayn Malik as a former member of the British band One Direction. Following his departure from the band, Zayn stepped out of the spotlight to focus on his relationship with Gigi Hadid and their daughter Khai.
Zayn’s request to deal with the issue in a private manner.
However, his name made headlines again after the revelation of his split with Gigi. On top of that, Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid accused him of assault. The singer denied this accusation as he called for his girlfriend’s mother to work on their family issues “in private”.
To break his silence in this matter, Zayn issued a statement on Twitter about this alleged family dispute. It says,
“As you all know, I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.”
“In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”
Zayn continued, saying how the issue should be a private matter between the family. However, he said that there is a sense of divisiveness in spite of his efforts to restore peace.
Also, he stated that he wants to co-parent in a way his daughter deserves.
“I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
Gigi Hadid is focusing on their daughter
On the other hand, Gigi released a statement through her representative yesterday, October 28. It said the model is keeping her focus on her daughter.
“Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time”.
Gigi and Zayn have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2015. They last rekindled their romance in 2019. After a few months, Gigi confirmed they were officially back together by sharing a photo of “Z” on her family’s farm in honor of Valentine’s Day.
The former couple welcomed their first baby together in September 2020. Since then, they kept Khai’s face out of social media photos to ensure her privacy.
Our hearts are breaking for these two and their baby. We certainly hope that they can patch things up and remain good friends for the sake of Khai.
