Big C collaborates with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) from April 1 to May 31, 2024

Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited is collaborating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) a tourist destination with the launch of two major campaigns: “Thailand Lucky Landing” and “Enjoy Thailand and Shop for more fun at Big C”. These initiatives invite both foreign and Thai tourists to explore Thailand, during travel period from April 1, 2024 to May 31, 2024.

Mr. Aswin Techajareonvikul, CEO and President of Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited, emphasized that Big C aims to be a prime destination for tourists seeking quality Thai souvenirs. By continuously creating campaigns in collaboration with TAT and partners, Big C has initiated the “Thailand Lucky Landing” campaign, which invites foreign tourists to Thailand with the opportunity to win one of 10,000 Lucky Vouchers, each worth 300 baht, totaling 3 million baht.

Participants can register and play games at various promotional points at airports. ‘Enjoy Thailand and Shop for more fun at Big C’ encourages Thai tourists to visit “secondary cities” on a spiritual pilgrimage, targeting younger travelers, working-aged groups, and families with activities to collect Big Points and win exclusive E-Coupons during their travels in 15 provinces.

Goal of the Campaign

The goals of both campaigns are to stimulate Thai economy and to revive the secondary cities by supporting local businesses and driving sustainable grassroots economic growth, offering tourists meaningful experiences through benefits received during their travels.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), revealed that TAT is promoting tourism policies for both Thai and foreign tourists. In the first two months of 2024, TAT attracted 6,387,598 foreign tourists, a 50% increase compared to the same period last year, generating 310,274 million baht in revenue.

TAT’s policy also supports tourism in secondary cities under various concepts since 2015, resulting in some provinces doubling their tourist numbers, thereby enhancing the economic value of Thai tourism and increasing local consumption to distribute income to operators and communities. Tourism in secondary cities introduces a new dimension of travel that is diverse and unique, promoting travel from main cities to secondary ones throughout the year.
