Alex Diaz, Kokoy de Santos starring in a Filipino BL series

During this Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the popularity of Thai BL series has grown exponentially among Filipinos. 2Gether The Series is one of the latest obsessions — starring Vachirawit Chiva-aree and Metawin Opas-iamkajorn.

How about a Filipino BL series in mainstream media? Well, ABS-CBN, through digital streaming platform iWant and production unit Dreamscape Entertainment, has been working on a Filipino BL series.

Director Eduardo Roy Jr. shared a glimpse of Oh, Mando!, starring Alex Diaz and Kokoy de Santos. In the said photos, the two lead stars can be seen getting cozy with each other at the historic Jones Bridge in the city of Manila.

He wrote, “OH, MANDO! A boy love series starring @kkydsnts and @alexandermcdizz soon on @iwant directed by me.”

The filming has begun before the implementation of Luzon-wide quarantine, however it seems the show has halted the production due to COVID-19 pandemic.

As of this writing, the show has not yet announced the release date of the series.

This is not the first time Eduardo Roy Jr. and Kokoy de Santos worked on a project together.

In 2019, Kokoy starred in the 2019 Cinemalaya entry Fuccbois. In fact, just recently, the said controversial film went viral after a netizen uploaded a full movie copy on YouTube.

Of course, some celebrities and netizens urged everyone to stop supporting piracy.
