After notable notice from Grammy, BGYO members react
Members of the P-pop ensemble BGYO shared their candid reactions following their recent recognition on the Grammy‘s website.
The dubbed Aces of P-Pop earned Grammy’s notice on May 12 through an article titled Get To Know The Many Sounds Of Asian Pop. The site aimed to provide an overview of acts that embodied the many facets of Asian music and included other promising figures.
Meanwhile, BGYO was the only Filipino entrant on the list and was acknowledged for “redefining” the image of a local boy band. Aside from hailing them in comparison to idol groups in Japan and Korea, Grammy further noted the quintet’s excellent lyricism.
In particular, the article cited that “BGYO’s lyrics focus on social issues relevant to youth, such as self-love, empowerment, and hope.” Grammy also mentioned some of the group’s notable achievements, from gaining impressive streams to penetrating the Billboard chart.
Thus, BGYO expressed their thoughts and sentiments in response to the newest milestone.
BGYO reacts to notable notice from Grammy
On Monday, bandmates Akira, Gelo, JL, Mikki, and Nate granted an interview with TeleRadyo’s Sakto segment, ABS-CBN News reported. During the guesting, they shared how they were taken aback upon finding the news during their Be Us live album showcase.
JL said, “Noong una po, nagtatanong pa po kami kung totoo ba ‘yon. Baka [kasi] hindi. Tapos nung chineck namin sa mismong Grammy website sobrang nagulat po kami.”
Mikki added, “Actually nalaman po namin yon on the day before kami umakyat sa Skydome. So sobrang na hype po kami na mag-perform kasi nalaman po namin ‘yung good news na ‘yon. And, I think it really helped us sa performances.”
BGYO took the chance to voice their heartfelt gratitude for their fans’ dedication and unwavering support.
