Nash August: A Rack Full of Worn Clothes

How do you know when it’s time to be different? To let go of things that once felt like the dream, seek something greater, and ultimately find yourself? For Nash August, former Creative Director of Village Pipol Magazine, his evolution as a creative is like “a Closet Rack Full of Clothes.” This rack represents him as an artist—a collection that started empty but gradually filled with garments gathered through time and experience.
For Nash, each garment symbolizes his ideology and principles. Despite their differences in style and purpose, each piece holds its own uniqueness.
“Despite the differences, they all have something in common: that is to make sure whoever wears them will make them feel comfortable and beautiful. Those clothes are like my principles in life, whenever I style or dress up someone- my goal is to make them feel better and make them feel that they can pull off the best version of them.”
From Garments to Clothes

From Village Pipol Creative Director to full-time fashion stylist, Nash reflects on his journey, and the opportunities VP gave him. Being part of VP was life-changing, opening doors that helped him grow both as a person and as an artist, and bringing him closer to people he admired and those who admired him.
He still remembers the early days—when he and his friends would stage fun shoots on the streets of Manila. What began as a playful activity eventually became his full-time career, something that reshaped the trajectory of his life. Nash admitted he never expected he was meant for this path but recognized how far he had already come compared to where he started.
Every project with Village Pipol felt like a milestone, but one particular moment stood out.
“To be able to see yourself in a printed magazine is such a big accomplishment,” he shared, describing it as proof that he could always strive for more and be better than before.
From VP to Full-Time Stylist

Nash recalls the pressures of juggling both fashion and creative direction, explaining that people often looked to him on set to set the mood. That constant pressure, he explained, molded him into the professional he is today. He credits those challenges for shaping his growth and resilience in the industry.
Now pursuing new creative ventures as a full-time stylist, he collaborates with celebrities, influencers, and well-known publications.
“Being a full-time fashion stylist isn’t an easy job. It requires passion, commitment, and connection. It’s both fulfilling and draining. But one thing’s for sure, I will still do more and better! I will continue pursuing becoming the Iconic Stylist.”
For Nash, fashion has also transformed his lifestyle. The fast-paced nature of the industry has tested his health and reminded him of the importance of balancing passion with self-care.
Nash August’s Dream to Reality

Through countless collaborative shoots and opportunities to work with top stars, Nash remains humble about his progress. He credits his closest friends and loved ones for recognizing the effort and heart he pours into his craft, even when it comes at the cost of his own well-being.
His ambitions continue to expand, as he envisions himself as one of the most iconic and top-tier fashion directors and stylists in the Philippines. Starting locally, he hopes to eventually gain recognition on a global scale.
“To be a globally known artist may sound huge, but I know that starting here in our country is a good step towards achieving those big dreams.”
Looking back, Nash said that the moment Village Pipol trusted him to become a Creative Director was one of the most priceless milestones of his life. Seeing himself in print for the first time made him realize why he does what he does—to share his story with the world and inspire others.
He hopes that the bridges he has built with fellow creatives and the opportunities he has extended to others will serve as living proof of his artistry. For aspiring creatives, his advice is straightforward:
“JUST START. You don’t have to be hundred percent polished in your craft just so you can start. If you want to create fashion editorial shoots, fashion films, or do styling works, then do it! JUST START with it!”
For Nash, every creation, every piece of work, and every sacrifice is meant to inspire the next generation of dreamers—those who, like him, wish to one day be an iconic artist.
From an empty rack to a wardrobe filled with symbolic garments, Nash August’s story embodies growth and dedication. Through each project, collaboration, and milestone, Nash proves that success is not just measured by recognition, but by the impact of one’s principles, creativity, and heart. His legacy serves as a roadmap for aspiring creatives, proving that with courage, consistency, and a commitment to one’s craft, dreams can transform into inspiring realities.
