Celebrate the launch of Trese with countdown event Trese Before Midnight

As Filipino fans gear up to finally see the highly-anticipated graphic novel series come alive on their screens, Netflix celebrates the premiere of the series with a special countdown event, Trese Before Midnight. Aside from serving as a celebration, it will also play host to the Not Alive concert with Filipino band UDD (formerly Up Dharma Down). They will perform the official OST PAAGI. It will be their first-ever concert with a ghost audience. And, if you submitted an entry to be part of the concert, you might just see a ghost version of yourself in the crowd!

If you can’t wait to see Alexandra go head-to-head with aswangs, you can watch the first five minutes of the first episode on June 10, 0000 PHT only on Netflix Philippines’ Facebook page. The series became set in a version of Manila where mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans. Alexandra Trese, voiced by Shay Mitchell in the English version and Liza Soberano in the Tagalog version, finds herself going head-to0head with a criminal underworld. This, on the other hand, comprised of malevolent supernatural beings.

In Rapha Cruz’s roundtable interview with Liza Soberano, she detailed the difference from the character that she has played. And, if she inherits the trait, she admitted what she will do with it as well.

“I believe that we’re both brave. But our differences… she does not hesitate. She doesn’t hesitate when there is a mission, an investigation given to her, or when she has to face these scary beings. Me, although I tend to be pretty brave and not back down from anything, especially if I know what I’m doing is right, I still have these hesitations.”

“Like for example—with accepting Trese. Because it was out of my comfort zone, I was hesitant at first to accept it because I didn’t wanna fail.”

“Alexandra Trese naman, for some reason, I guess she’s confident that she’s not gonna fail, but of course, we always have room for error and I’m pretty sure she has that in the back of her mind. But she’s not hesitant because she knows what her mission is, she knows what her destiny is, and she won’t let anybody stop her to achieving that goal or whatever it is that she is trying to reach.”
