VP/Tech | Define your power with the Slimmest Infinix HOT 50 Pro+

If you clicked on this, you’re probably looking for a sleek phone that can handle gaming and is affordable. Luckily, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ might just be the phone you’re looking for.

A slim profile, packed features, and efficient performance. What more can you ask for? It even has a great price perfect for that long-overdue upgrade you’ve been planning for months.

Dubbed as the world’s slimmest gaming smartphone, let’s examine the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ four months after its official release in the Philippines.

Build and Design

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ has three sleek colorways: Titanium Grey, Dreamy Purple, and Sleek black. The unit we have sported the Titanium Grey colorway that features a pearlescent finish giving it that premium metal look.

At 6.8mm thin, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ sports the world’s slimmest 3D curved SlimEdge design that stands out from any angle. It’s also lightweight at 162g, ensuring you won’t feel any discomfort when holding the phone for prolonged hours.

Moreover, Infinix’s new TitanWing architecture ensures that the phone is durable despite its slim build. It comes with six-sided durability that has no problem facing accidental drops, scratches, and even bends.

So yes, the phone is incredibly slim, but so are its chances of breaking.

Display

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ sports a curved AMOLED FHD+ display that lets you experience vibrant colors. It also caps at a 120Hz refresh rate so you know you’re getting the smoothest viewing experience.

The overall viewing experience isn’t shabby at all. It delivers excellent color payoff and nice contrast making it more immersive to the eye. It can even reach a peak brightness of 1300nits, so you won’t have trouble gaming and scrolling outdoors.

Made out of Corning Gorilla Glass, this display sports flagship-level protection with enhanced resistance against drops, scratches, and bends. You can even use your phone even when your hands are wet and greasy thanks to its Wet & Greasy Touch feature.

Camera

I’d like to draw your attention to this phone’s camera setup for a moment. It was so refreshing to see Infinix’s iconic WOOOW Cube design. In a world of massive circles, this oval design stands out for my taste. It is refined, sleek, and a little bit edgy, just enough to take you back in time and stand out in the present.

Now on to its cameras. The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ sports a 50MP main camera that takes everything with stunning clarity. As you can see from our sample shots, the phone captured photos with clear detail under any given setting. There’s a smoothness to the photos, but it’s not as extreme to the point of being bothersome and tacky.

Overall, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ takes great photos despite its price point. It’s a device worth taking out for quick snaps and capturing every moment worth keeping. It even comes with the latest Infinix AI, so you can expect fun features like AI Eraser and AI Cutouts.

Performance and Storage

Despite the slim facade, this device carries power like no other. The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ boasts the MediaTek Helio G100 chip that offers exceptional gaming performance.

If you’re the type of gamer who plays Mobile Legends: Bang Bang or Honor of Kings, this phone’s definitely for you. Upon our testing, running those games felt as smooth as butter with minimal heating. It can even run Genshin Impact, though you’d want to opt for the game’s default setting to run it at its most pristine.

There’s even an integrated advanced ultra-crystalline graphite cooling that improves the phone’s thermal and cooling capabilities by 20%. So, if you intend to use this phone predominantly for gaming, you don’t have much to worry about.

The phone performs consistently overall. Given its price point, we’re both surprised and satisfied with how it performed even for daily tasks and multitasking.

Battery

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ sports a 5000mAh battery paired with 33W charging ensuring your power never falters.

It has three different charging modes you can choose from depending on what you need: Hyper, Smart, and Low-Temp. During hyper mode, the phone can reach 50% in just 26 minutes allowing you to maximize your productivity and efficiency.

Another feature we liked is the bypass charging feature which allows the phone to charge without overheating even when playing games. Listen, I know how irresistible these games could be, and having the peace of knowing your phone can charge while you’re playing is a check in my book.

Overall Thoughts

As the saying goes, big things come in small packages, and in this case the slimmest. Four months after its official release, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ remains a solid option for people looking for a sleek gaming phone.

Featuring the world’s slimmest profile, a powerful chip, and a solid overall performance, this might be the phone you want to upgrade to especially if you’re on a budget. We appreciate how Infinix slimmed down on the phone but kept the power up and maximized efficiency.
