Three Filipino brands join the list of sponsors for Miss Universe 2022
As the Miss Universe competition inches a little closer, the organization proudly recognizes this year’s set of sponsors. Through a social media post, they acknowledge and introduce different brand names and companies.
In any type of event—especially ones that are huge and influential as Miss Universe—sponsorships provide incredible opportunities and benefits to its participating brands. Giving them a platform to reach a brand-new market, and improve public perception as well as awareness.
For its 2022 edition, Miss Universe has partnered up with three well-known Filipino brands. A remarkable feat to be included on such a prestigious list. Here’s a look at these brands and what their duties will be for the pageant.
Lazada PH
As the official E-commerce platform, Lazada has utilized its platform to add a new experience for each pageant fan. In the past, it has served as a voting site to select their favorite candidate as well as a live-streaming portal to watch the competition.
With the voting currently underway and under a different platform, it’s definitely interesting to see what Lazada has in store for this year.
Olivia Quido Clinical Skincare
Since 2019, Miss Universe has partnered with the US-based Filipino skincare company O Skin Med Spa. Providing products under the Olivia Quido Clinical Skincare line, it is being managed by founder and CEO Olivia Quido-Co.
A clinic to the beauty queens, Olivia Quido has racked up many Pinay beauty queens which are frequent clientele. These include Shamcey Supsup (Miss Universe 2011, 3rd Runner-up), Janine Tugonon (Miss Universe 2012, 1st Runner-up), Ariela Arida (Miss Universe 2013, 3rd Runner-up), Megan Young (Miss World 2013), and Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015).
Bragais Shoes
If you like pageants, you probably know about Bragais shoes or at least have worn one. A brainchild of Jose Joaquin “Jojo” Bragais, the shoes have been a staple in different pageant competitions.
Making its way onto the Miss Universe stage, this will be Bragais’ third year as an official shoe distributor since 2020.
Furthermore, other sponsors include the following:
Carnival Cruise Line as the official sponsor
Mouawad as the official crown sponsor
The Sash Company as the official sash sponsor
Muba Cosmetics as the official Makeup sponsor
Hyatt Regency New Orleans as the official hotel sponsor
J by Jacqueline Aguilera as the official swimwear and bikini sponsor
Liva Natural Fluid Fashion as the official coverup fabric sponsor
Portia and Scarlett as the official opening number dress sponsor.
Congratulations to these three Filipino names for making it big in the pageant industry! Will this be an advantage for our very own Celeste Cortesi to win the Miss Universe crown? We have to wait and see!
Vee De Serra is a go-getter and a writer driven by passion. When in doubt, Vee believes that "Life isn't fair but it is up to you make it one." As a city and a beach person—when the sun is out—expect Vee to spend hours getting lost in the concrete jungle or laying by the shoreline with both finishing the day by watching a beautiful sunset.
