Christmas will fully take us over in a matter of only a few days. Deep inside, our minds are already on holiday break although some are held back by either work or academic backlogs. In fact, waiting until the 25th comes is what probably keeps us all going.

Heartening the spirit of unity and love amidst crisis, the song has hopeful lyrics dedicated to all Filipinos. It also pays tribute to the hero that exists within us, as we battle against the challenges brought by the pandemic.
Halo-halo by Itchyworms
In celebration of their 25th anniversary, rock band Itchyworms released their ‘Christmas Starts When the Bers Begin’ EP. It was first dropped in 2020, with 2 new holiday tracks added in November this year.
Along with this, is ‘Halo-halo,’ an upbeat tune reinforcing ‘classic yuletide traditions with Pinoy sensibilities.’ Band vocalist Jazz Nicolas wrote the song to highlight how Christmas is a magical feeling we Filipinos celebrate differently.
Ligaya by SB19
A highly anticipated Christmas song— that was the promise of SB19’s leader, Pablo to their beloved A’TIN in 2020. And this year, the group has finally granted that long-wanted wish through a new track titled ‘Ligaya.’
Happiness and fulfillment are rather felt, not seen; that is what SB19 imparts as a message. With its timeless lyrics, catchy tune, and excellent execution; Ligaya could simply be our next classic yuletide anthem.
