Oh no! Herlene Budol’s national costume arrives in Uganda disassembled
After a long flight, Herlene Budol finally lands in Uganda to compete at Miss Planet International 2022. Wearing a scarlet terno by Noel Bompat Estopito, she’s ready to begin her journey to the crown.
However, as she set foot in the African country, Herlene’s excitement was quickly turned into complete distraught. This is because of what transpired with her national costume.
Not only did it arrive in pieces, but the body of the costume was also found to be missing.
Starting on ‘sad and emotional’ note
In an Instagram post, Herlene expresses her disappointment on the whole situation while posting a picture of how the costume looked. In the caption, she starts off with, “Nakakaiyak at sobrang lungkot ng Hipon Girl nyo.”
And then proceeded to explain how it all happened. Sharing that:
“Ang National Costume mukhang na-disgrasya po ng Airlines. Pag dating ng Airport ayaw ipakarga kesyo over size daw. Then no choice na rin kami at hinayaan nalang namin chinopchop nila at binaklas buong box.”
“Ang masaklap yung pinaka body ng costume hindi nakarating ng Uganda. Buong araw na kami nasa Airport at tinengga oras namin at pinangakuan kami na darating ng gabi. Pero 2:30 a.m. na at wala na silang paramdam.”
The photo shows the comparison of how it departed from Manila and how it arrived in Uganda.
Last August, Herlene was appointed as the new Miss Planet Philippines. Placing previously as 1st runner-up at Bb. Pilipinas 2022, both her manager, Wilbert Tolentino, and the organization have been working together to help Herlene with her preparations.
Herlene is eyeing to win the country’s first Miss Planet Crown with the coronation slated to happen in November 19.
Hoping that everything will be settled, we wish Herlene the very best of luck!
