New Features in Genshin Impact 2.8: Summer Fantasia
Traveler, we’re heading back to Golden Apple Archipelago.
The Genshin Impact 2.8 update is heading to all servers on July 13. This will be the conclusion of the Act II storyline before heading to the newest region, Sumeru for Act III.
The Summertime Fantasia
Like the conclusion of Act I, we’re going back to the event location, Golden Apple Archipelago. Now, travelers will sail along with Mona, Xinyan, Kaedehara Kazuha, and Fischl. This seems like an odd party as they came from different regions but the islands are closely connected to all of them.
2.8 is jam-packed with various events and once players earned enough event currency, they can have Fischl on their team.
The events will include time trials, puzzles, and of course, combat.
Reminiscent Regimen will be boat-based time trails. Players will use Waverider to sail and get the rewards while avoiding various obstacles.
Evermotion Mechanical Painting will be the new puzzle event. Players will use gears and cogs to run a machine.
Hidden Strife will be the combat event. Players must complete some objectives to get combat buffs.
Around the islands, players will come across conch shells that they can collect to get the limited skin for Fischl.
Diluc’s newest skin will also be available on 2.8. It will have a new idle and attack animation.
Kazuha’s story quest and hang-out event with Heizuo
Finally, Kazuha is getting his first story quest after a year of his release.
Based on its preview, it seems as if Kazuha got possessed by a worn-out sword emitting a purple aura. It is later shown that he’s forging a sword with his eyes turning purple. Kazuha is the successor of a swordsmith art called Isshin Art. He’s the only limited 5-star character that didn’t have a story quest.
Kazuha’s friend Shikanoin Heizuo will be the newest 4-star Anemo character in the game. He’s a known detective from the Inazuma region and highly trained in martial arts. Heizou will be the first melee catalyst user in the game. In addition, his release will have a hangout event to know more about his character.
Who’s in 2.8 Limited Banner?
The first half of the 2.8 banners will be the first rerun of the long-awaited Kazuha along with Klee’s second rerun. It will also include Heizou.
Kazuha’s first release sales were poor since his banner was before the arrival of the 2.0 update and his kit is similar to Venti and Sucrose that’s why players skipped on him. However, players immediately regret it as Kazuha became one of the most powerful units and has great exploration skills.
Klee has one of the highest release sales mainly because of her adorable design and personality. Her second rerun unfortunately has low sales.
For the second half of 2.8 banners, it will have Yoimiya. This will be the last banner before the arrival of 3.0 and many characters from Sumeru.
