Michael V. gets scammed by online seller
Michael V. recently fell victim to an online selling scam, thus alerting his followers about accepting deliveries via cash-on-delivery (COD).
On Instagram, last Sunday, October 17, the Kapuso comedian recounted a package being delivered to his home.
However, the house help accepted it on his behalf as he was not at home at that time.
The package, a selfie stick, cost around P500. However, shock came to Michael V. after discovering his house help received the item for P2,550.
Furthermore, he explained how he usually uses a credit card when purchasing items online.
“Kapag nagsi-COD ako, madalas binibilin ko sa mga kasambahay ko na may paparating na COD, tapos nag-iiwan ako ng pera.”
Michael V. surmised that online scammers may have discovered records of customers’ names and addresses.
This prompted them to start scamming people online.
The GMA-7 star reminded his followers to be careful when packages marked as COD arrives at their home.
He pressed that buyers should reject the COD package from a delivery rider if they have no recollection of ordering such.
Michael V. explained,
“Sa mga mahilig mamili online, be vigilant. Abangan niyo ‘yong mga scam na kagaya nito. Kapag hindi niyo inorder, just say no.”
Thanks for the warning, Michael! Be wary of online scammers, everyone!
