Let’s Volt In! GMA Network finally unveils cast for upcoming Voltes V live-action series
After months of heavy speculation (and years of preparation for the production), GMA Network finally unveiled the names of the main cast members of their highly anticipated live-action Voltes V: Legacy series.

Courtesy of GMA NetworkJust last January 2021, the network giant released a surprise teaser 2.0 trailer for the upcoming show. The one-minute clip showcases new scenes and has even better rendered designs compared to the one they’ve released back in 2020. Earlier today, the show’s director Mark A. Reyes posted one final photo teaser on Instagram before the big reveal.
“I took this picture almost a year ago before the whole world went into lockdown,” his caption states.
THE VOLTES V CREW
With big shoes to fill in, the actors were revealed in a week-long intro special via the network’s primetime broadcasting show 24 Oras. On Monday (February 8th), actors for Mark, Big Bert, and Little Jon were presented; Wednesday (February 10th) had Jamie and ; while on Friday (February 12th) was when the actors for Prince Zardoz and Zarda were revealed.

STEVE ARMSTRONG

As the eldest among three brothers, Steve acts as the father figure of the team. His charisma and wit makes him the best candidate to lead the Voltes V crew. He’s an off-road motorcyclist and an ace pilot. Also a marksman, Steve’s weapon of choice is a pistol Although, he’s adept with using swords. Moreover, he pilots the Volt Cruiser, which becomes Voltes V’s head after volting in.
BIG BERT ARMSTRONG

A master of hand-to-hand combat, Big Bert is the team’s defense tactician. Although, his light disposition didn’t come easy. After going through a tough training away from his family, Big Bert has learned to convert his pent-up emotions into sheer strength. His go-to weapon is a bo staff. He pilots the Volt Panzer, Voltes V’s trunk after volting in.
LITTLE JON ARMSTRONG

He’ll mainly be the one in-charge for repairs during missions. He also invents a talking octopus-robot named Octo-One. Despite being the youngest in the team, he’s considered a genius-level human. Although he doesn’t join fights most of the time, his exceptional skill in sports make him a good back-up. He pilots the Volt Frigate, which turns into the legs once volted in.
MARK GORDON

Courtesy of GMA NetworkStarStruck 7 alumnus RADSON FLORES stars as the rodeo champion Mark Gordon. The character comes across as unapproachable because he grew up alone in the streets. Although, his calm-and-collected demeanor will surely be a great asset for the team during times of crisis. Mark’s best friend is a trusty white stallion named Alpha, and his weapon of choice is a whip. He pilots the Volt Bomber, which turns to the arms once volted in.
JAMIE ROBINSON

Despite being the heart and voice of reason among her comrades, Jamie is quick to her feet and has lightning-fast reflexes. Trained as a ninja from a very young age, she’s a skilled combatant. Don’t let her slim frame fool you, she’ll certainly take you down in one strike. She pilots the Volt Lander, becoming Voltes V’s feet after volting in.
THE BOAZANIAN FLEET
A good story won’t be complete without a good antagonist. In Voltes V lore, enemies aren’t who you thought they are. Those who you think are on the good side could end up being the mastermind for all the crisis the earth is experiencing. Moreover, those you thought who were bad to the core, are just misunderstood.
Who’ll make the Voltes V team’s days difficult? Here they are:
PRINCE ZARDOZ

A soldier first before being a prince, Zardoz would rather die in the battlefield than to give up. Although he finds himself constantly failing against the Voltes V team, he’ll do whatever it takes to redeem Boazan’s former glory.
ZANDRA

Courtesy of GMA Public AffairsOne of Boazan’s fiercest warriors, Zarda will be played by StartStruck 6 alumna LIEZEL LOPEZ. Loyal and courageous, she’ll follow Zardoz even if it’s to the death. She’d literally take a bullet for the fallen Boazanian prince if the situation needs it.
