4 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters Who Need To Stay Dead

Marvel has always been a name to count on when you talk about superheroes and cinematic universes. They weaved in one superhero’s story to another perfectly and flawlessly that remains satisfying to both the mind and eye. Marvel has introduced us to superheroes over the course of a decade, successfully making us deeply care and love fictional on-screen characters. Of course, when they die, we feel so heartbroken that you would beg to make them come back to life. However, even when that’s the case, there are characters who need to stay dead – because if they don’t, all hell will surely break loose.

5 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters Who Need To Stay Dead

Iron Man

We love Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark. As in, we love him 3000. We could watch him play the role for another decade if we could. However, Avengers: Endgame featured his valiant death. Sure, it breaks our heart with the fact that he left Pepper husband-less, Morgan father-less, and Peter mentor-less. But, aside from that, the movie had completed his arc. He went from a selfish genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist to a true and self-sacrificial hero. Although there are some rumors of his return, Iron Man should stay dead to honor his sacrifice and the effects it caused –  a blooming friendship between Happy and Morgan and Peter’s self-discovery.

Black Widow

As an MCU fan, this is probably the most heartbreaking death I’ve ever seen. Mainly because her sacrifice was not treated as much care as Captain America and Iron Man’s. Like, come on, Black Widow was one of the six main Avengers. And, sadly, she didn’t have any funeral or even a nod to the female empowerment that she herself started. Like, hello? She’s a goddamn human and she fights alongside people with superpowers.

If it weren’t for Black Widow, there wouldn’t be any other female Avenger. Hopefully, fans can get a proper sendoff for the character with the upcoming Black Widow film. Although that gives issues that we never really got enough of her until she died, it feels right to say goodbye to the Avenger. She will always be one of the most important parts of the franchise as she herself helps others to usher in a new era of female heroes.

Aldrich Killian

This boring-ass motherfucker was the closest the MCU had been able to get to the Mandarin. Still, he was thematically one of the weakest villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus, the fact that he died fair and square at the hands of none other than Pepper Potts herself remains one of the most amazing things that she has ever done. Although Aldrich Killian could still play a part in Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings since the film sets to introduce the real Mandarin, he could assume his title. Hopefully, not. Let’s keep Killian in Iron Man 3, dead and burnt to ashes.

Thanos

This huge-ass grape deserved to die and that’s all there is to it. However, he will go down in history as one of Marvel’s most infamous adversaries, traumatizing everyone by The Snap and killing off Spiderman, allowing Tom Holland to break our hearts with that “I don’t want to go” line. He does not need any more screen time after all the havoc he wrought with the Avengers. For goodness sake, please stay dead.
