JUST IN: Marcelito Pomoy enters grand finale of ‘America’s Got Talent’
After earning a standing ovation from the judges, Marcelito Pomoy has advanced to the grand finale of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”
During the semifinals aired Monday night, judges Howie Mandel, Alesha Dixon, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, and even audience stood from their chairs after Pomoy showed off his outstanding vocal range. He sang Andrea Bocelli’s Con Te Partiro/Time to Say Goodbye both in male and female keys.
Watch the full performance below:
“I gotta say that I believe that you have the best shot of winning this whole thing. This is the semifinals and you raised your game. The woman in you was just as good as she was the last time. But you as a man, you went up a notch. She tried to stay up with you but she couldn’t,” Howie said.
For Dixon, the song was “absolutely a brilliant choice” for Pomoy. “It really enabled you to shine. I just love everything about you Marcelito. That was a fabulous performance, well done.”
Meanwhile, Klum said she’s been waiting for Pomoy to come on the stage because he is her favorite.
Cowell, on the other hand, challenged the Filipino singer to “take a bigger risk because the surprise is over.” However, he believes that Pomoy has a massive career waiting for him outside the stage.
Also entering the finale were Hans, Tyler Buttler-Figueroa, Alexa Lauenburger, Sandou Trio Russian Bar, and Duo Transcend. All of them including Pomoy will be competing next week with the four golden buzzer acts Angelina Jordan, Bogie Storm, V. Unbeatable and Silhouettes.

Pomoy is the winner of the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2011 under the ABS-CBN network where he earned his fame.
