Iconic 80’s Movies You Might Need Right Now

Nostalgia alert! here are my favorite feel-good iconic 80’s movies blast from the past that you might need to watch right now. If I have a chance to travel back in the past, it will be definitely into the 80s. Most people say that it is a “glorious decade,” and yes it does/. Most especially iconic movies that became classics of all time, were born in this generation.

Here are my top favorite ’80s movies that will surely make you feel good in no time.

The Breakfast Club (1985)

The most famous movie in that era was written and directed by John Hughes. He literally dominated the 80s with his iconic comedies that snuggle with the teenage experience. Your ’80s movie marathon will not be complete without his work. His most prolific film, The Breakfast Club had five disparate teenagers come together in detention, which gave them time to argue about their real-life issues, which is relatable and made the movie so important.

Back To The Future (1985)

This movie is a real blast. Just watching Marty Mcfly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc (Christopher Lloyd) always made me happy. Back To The Future was such a unique film that explains and handled the concept of time travel reasonably well. This time traveling classic hops from the 80s to the 50s and from an era mall. Marty and Doc, two are set on a mission to get back to the future that looks like it did when they left the time machine. This movie was so good that it has the Back To The Future trilogy.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)

I remember my father used to tell me that when Ferris Bueller’s Day Off came out, almost every teenager wants to be like Ferris (portrayed by Matthew Broderick) and cut school. This film had a simple concept and I believe that is why it worked. The three characters which are Ferrie, Sloane (Mia Sara), and Cameron (Alan Ruck) all had their own idea of what will be a day of skipping school would it be like and they lived it to the fullest. Ferris Bueller’s Day is a sick day movie that can be watched by all ages and even today.

Ghostbusters(1984)

Who do you want to call? Ghostbusters!!! Who cannot remember this iconic movie that stole the hearts and laughs of the people? It is still our favorite dumb-fun movie to watch every Halloween. It is a wholesome movie because of the storyline and especially the cast. If you watch you probably want to be part of the squad. Moreover, the song by Ray Parker Jr. “Ghostbusters,” made it a Halloween staple at parties even today.

Big (1988)

Big became one of the best body switch movies ever, a classic until now. It is all about being a child who wanted to grow up so fast to have the freedom that adults have. A young Tom Hanks still had that spark of a child’s eye. This movie has many lessons and realizations and it makes you want to be in your childhood again.

These movies really define the ’80s era and continue to influence the culture of today. We are really fortunate to still have a chance to watch these classics. There are so many deserving films that you can still watch on different streaming sites. ’80s movies are the movies we couldn’t live without. Hoping this article will make watch, appreciate, and love movies of different genres and eras.
