Gigi De Lana to put singing career on hold due to throat nodules
Gigi De Lana has recently announced to the public that she’s taking a break from singing due to a health-related concern.
De Lana declared the decision in an event she attended on Wednesday. In the middle of her show, she asked the fans to sing along with her. However, the gesture would later progress in the singer’s revelation about her vocal cords’ condition.

According to an ABS-CBN News article, De Lana requested mid-performance so the audience chime in with her. She even pleaded with the crowd to pretend to at least know the song and hum along with it. The Gigi Vibes band vocalist then revealed the reason behind the favor.
De Lana admitted her fears of losing her voice due to a recent throat diagnosis.
“Gusto ko sumabay kayo sa akin, kahit ‘di niyo alam ang kanta, kahit kunwari lang. I just want to hear you sing. I don’t know if my voice will remain like this forever because I was diagnosed already sa throat ko. So, please pray for me,” she said.
Moreover, a report from Push further specified that the singer had been diagnosed with nodules in her throat. Experts define nodules as the unusual lump most singers likely develop as caused by the frequent use of their voices over time.
Following her confession, De Lana said she would take a hiatus from singing and rest for two months. She sought her supporters to include her recovery in their prayers.
