FiLay uncovers Valentine’s present for fans
Actors David Licauco (Fidel) and Barbie Forteza (Klay), recently revealed their special gift for FiLay fans this Valentine’s Day.
On Monday, through the showbiz segment of GMA’s 24 Oras, the two announced the postponement of the finale for Maria Clara At Ibarra. The historical hit show is based on the novels of Jose Rizal, starring Julie Anne San Jose and Dennis Trillo.
While the series is supposed to conclude this week, Licauco and Forteza have officially confirmed its extension. According to the creators, the decision is in response to popular public demand, particularly among fans of the FiLay love team.
Continuation of FiLay’s love story
During an interview with 24 Oras, FiLay detailed what their admirers can anticipate following the extension of the project.
Forteza said, “Thirteen years na hindi nakita ni Fidel si Klay. Parang ang sasandaling panahon lang nilang magkakasama. Parang ang unfair naman nun for Fidel.” She further acknowledged the need to give their characters more time to spend together.
On the other hand, Licauco added, “Mai-inlove ‘yung mga fans, ‘yung mga supporters of FiLay. Kasi syempre ‘yung mga scenes na ginawa namin was really sweet. Maraming roller coaster of emotions, biglang sasaya, ta’s biglang mai-inlove, ta’s biglang malulungkot, iiyak. So ‘yun, kailangan nilang maabangan ‘yun.”
Nearing its 100 episodes, Maria Clara At Ibarra has transitioned to tackle book two of Rizal’s famous novel, El Filibusterismo. After Noli Me Tangere, the story will now focus on Crisostomo Ibarra’s plan to take revenge in the mask of the wealthy and infamous jeweler, Simoun.
For its brand-new plot, the program introduced Kahlil Ramos, Pauline Mendoza, Kim de Leon, and Julia Pascual as additional characters. Juancho Trivino, Rocco Nacino, and Chai Fonaicer, among others, retained their roles.
Maria Clara at Ibarra airs Monday to Friday, 8 PM, through GMA Telebabad. It is simulcast live via the digital channel Pinoy Hits, with replays every weekday on GTV.
