Dua Lipa Unveils her Valentino Pop Star Fit
From Mugler-couture catsuit to Balenciaga, Dua Lipa revealed yet another signature Pop Star fit. It’s none other than the Valentino Barbiecore eleganza by Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Early February this year, Lipa kicked off her most-awaited Future Nostalgia world tour. A 90-minute spectacle featuring hit after hit tracks performed live, and ultimately Dua Lipa turning up the Disco-esque show. Since then, we have seen a glimpse of it on the internet. Most especially the stage outfits she rocked on tour. The looks she serves onstage differ from those typical and lackluster bedazzled stage outfits we’ve seen in the past years. The singer along with her stylist Lorenzo Posocco successfully curated looks that are indeed etched in our consciousness as her quintessential Popstar ‘fits.
Popstar ‘fit #1: Mugler
This finale look is definitely one for the books! Dua Lipa subtly tells a message to her co-pop stars. “If you will be serving looks onstage, then why not Mugler couture?
If you’re following Mugler, then you must be familiar with their iconic catsuits. Moreover, Dua Lipa had already donned Mugler catsuits back in 2020 and 2021 as her Popstar ‘fit. But this time, Casey Cadwallader (creative director) pepped up the catsuit with 120,000 crystals making her a literal star that glistens all the way at the back of the stadium. Yes, she is rhinestoned to the Gawdz!
This catsuit highlights body-defining panels — signature Mugler cut-outs reminiscent of the Mugler bodysuits from the runway collections of 2021.
Even her backup dancers also flaunt Mugler bodysuits onstage!
Popstar ‘fit #2: BALENCIAGA
Furthermore, Future Nostalgia’s familiar feel and style is Disco. Along with this concept, Dua also describes this record as a Dancercise Class. Inspired by the ’70s and 80’s vibrant aesthetic, especially in visuals.
And for the tour, she collaborated with Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga to translate this concept through the stage outfits. Demna created not just one but two vivid-hued catsuits and it is giving the Dancercise Class concept with flair. The stage outfit in question features a full lace catsuit with matching opera gloves, one in Neon Yellow and the other in Pink.
The bodysuit would not be a complete Balenciaga look without the Pantashoes. This is the full bodysuit with built-in pants/shoes. Which we have seen from Kim Kardashian and Alexa Demie’s essential Balenciaga looks from last year.
VERSACE: look #3
Taking a break from the full-body catsuits, Dua Lipa also emerged in this custom silver bedazzled ensemble with asymmetrical sleeves as her another Popstar fit. Courtesy of one of her besties in the industry: Donatella Versace. Adding this look as one of the salient visuals of the show.
Valentino Barbiecore
Recently, she unveiled another striking stage outfit at Sunny Hill Festival in Pristina, Kosovo. Cementing another Valentino Barbiecore look as her Popstar ‘fit. Dua Lipa together with the creative director of the Maison Pierpaolo Piccioli worked closely to curate this look for the festival. Leaving the festival-goers with iconic Dua Lipa visuals with the Valentino Barbiecore. The look features a sequined bralette and a mini skirt with matching mid-calf booties and the staple opera gloves. All in luminous Pink!
This Pink Barbiecore madness began during the launching of the Valentino Fall runway show last March. The upcoming Barbie film, it became a total trend as of late.
Indeed, to witness the Future Nostalgia live show before your eyes is one thing. But to witness the show with Dua Lipa in her impeccable Popstar ‘fits is another, or dare I say MAJOR!
