Do’s and Don’ts in Playing Call of Duty Mobile (CODM)

Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) has been around for 3 years now while its original franchise was released way back in 2003. CODM is fairly new compared to its predecessor. Therefore it’s understandable that new players may need a few do’s and don’ts while playing the game. Here are some tips and tricks that can help you improve your gameplay and enjoy the game more!

Do’s & Don’ts for both Multiplayer (MP) and Battle Royale (BR)

DO!

There are many things we must consider when playing both MP and BP in CODM, here are a few of my takes that new players should be mindful of.

Communicate with your Teammates

CODM is a multiplayer game. You can’t win on your own. Well maybe except when you’re playing solo mode, but where’s the fun in that? Good communication with your teammates could mean the difference between winning and losing in a team-based fight.

A simple command of location can change the course of a game. Thus, when enforcing good communication with the team, one must know how to provide accurate instruction. Give proper direction and for the love of God, don’t just say “dito sa likod ko!”, “sa kanan!”, “doon!”, and so forth. Familiarize yourself with the mini-map and compass that can be found on your screen. By utilizing these features, you can deliver precise directions that won’t confuse your team.

Customize your Arsenal

Although this may require a few trial and error, once you know your build, you’re ready to go to battle. In CODM, every season features a new META. In order words, these are the guns, operator skills, or class skills that have been buffed. Everyone will be on the lookout for this META so you have to be prepared as well. While you might already be comfortable with your current build, you never know when CODM will nerf yours.

When playing BR, prioritize changing your gun in the arsenal provided in the airdrop. It’s better to have an advantage in the earlier part of the game. On the other hand, in MP, have guns ready for any map and any mode. Since META is ever-changing, be updated and look for the best attachment for a buffed gun of the season.

Optimize Class Skills / Operator Skills / Scorestreaks

It’s important to familiarize yourself with the class skills provided in BR. It can vary from a defender, smoke bomber, clown, trap master, etc. It’s up to you to find what you think suits your gameplay more. In MP, operator skills and scorestreaks are provided for players to use to their advantage.

Using these skills depends greatly on the type of player you are. For example, for BR class skills, most aggressive players use ninja in order to hide their footprints when approaching targets. On the other hand, for MP games, aggressive players usually use purifier or sparrow for an instant kill.

DON’T!

Now you know the do’s, let me tell you the don’ts. If you want to enjoy the game for yourself and other players, you might want to avoid these.

Promoting Toxicity

Trash talking is acceptable and a natural part of the game. However, too much of it can ruin the game for both yourself and your team. It’s important to know when to utilize provoking an enemy to your advantage. Another thing you shouldn’t do while playing CODM is to make girl gamers uncomfortable by simping. Most of these women simply want to play the game in peace.

One more thing, if you don’t want your teammates and opponents to hate you, don’t abuse melee weapons. Using melee when you feel like your aim is off is completely acceptable. However, once you use the melee for the entirety of the game because it provides the easiest kill, you’re no different from a melee abuser that the game community hates to the core.

Staying Still / Camping

While camping is considered a tactic, too much of it ruins the game. It’s fine if it’s only for a short amount of time, however doing it for more than half of the game? Please don’t. Imagine being on a roll, having a complete arsenal and great mods, plus you’ve just killed a squad! Then you’re just going to get killed by that one player who did nothing but camp in the corner of a house and then proceed to loot your precious items. That must be one of the most pathetic kills in CODM. Enjoy the game and let others enjoy it too!

Also, don’t just literally stay still. Utilize the jump, slide, and crouch control on your screen. This will make you a difficult target to hit. Plus it looks cool!

These are only a few of the many you should remember when playing CODM! As you go and play, you’ll get to realize more of these along the way. But most importantly, enjoying the game is, of course, the top priority!
