COVID-19: Ligo Sardines donates 2020 advertising budget to relief efforts


Ligo Sardines surely won every Filipino’s hearts! They recently announced that they will donate the entirety of their 2020 advertising budget to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) relief and rescue efforts. In a statement, they also vowed to work hard to provide Filipinos, especially during this Luzon-wide quarantine.

In fact, the canned food manufacturer sets to allocate their entire advertising budget. Moreover, they will donate it to non-government organizations, charities, and individual groups who remain at the forefront of the COVID-19 relief and rescue efforts. Vice President for Advertising and Promotion Macky Tung also noted that they will coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs) for proper distribution.
“We will work hard to provide for you in times that you need us most. We pledge to deliver food and supplies, including our classic products, to the most affected families and communities; provide relief and assistance to health workers and other front liners; and equip them with Personal Protective Equipment. We will coordinate with Local Government Units to ensure orderly distribution.”
Ligo’s statement also says:
“Ligo Philippines is aware of the challenges that many of you, our kababayans, face everyday as you protect yourselves from COVID-19. We have been thinking of your welfare since the beginning. And like everyone, we are putting your health and safety as top priorities.
As an act of solidarity, we are allocating our entire advertising budget this year, effective immediately. We are donating the funds to non-government organizations, charities, and independent groups who are at the forefront of the COVID-19 relief and response efforts.
