K-pop girl group sensation BLACKPINK ticked a new historic achievement as they become the most viewed music group on YouTube.
BLACKPINK comprises Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, who debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. Apart from the members thriving as solo artists, they are famed for smashing records as a group.
This time, the Kill This Love hitmakers earned another notable recognition as the most-viewed music channel on YouTube. The Guinness World Records confirmed the news through an announcement on its website. Based on the article, the four-piece ensemble amassed 30.2 billion views on the platform as of April 12.
With the figure, BLACKPINK snagged the milestone previously held by the Maroon 5. As the former record-holder, the American pop band had over nine billion views in 2018.

The prominence of BLACKPINK on YouTube may be attributed to its engaging songs, compelling music videos, and enormous global fanbase. For instance, the music video for one of an earlier single titled DDU-DU DDU-DU has accumulated over two billion views alone.
Moreover, many other songs, such as How You Like That and As If It’s Your Last, likewise surpassed the billion mark. Aside from music content, the quartet’s official channel also features behind-the-scenes footage that shows a glimpse into their lives.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK also gained acknowledgment as the most streamed female group on Spotify. They received a staggering 8.8 billion individual streams, which allowed their reign on the said medium compared to other artists global-wide.
