JISOO COMING SOON: Jisoo of BLACKPINK teases solo debut
Lead vocalist Kim Jisoo of the multi-awarded K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK will finally debut solo on March 31.
BLACKPINK is a four-piece formation by YG Entertainment launched in 2016. It is composed of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. They are known for being the first-ever Korean group to hit a billion mark views in their music videos.
Moreover, BLACKPINK won many awards, including a nomination as Top Social Artist in the prestigious Billboard Charts. Some of their famous songs include BOOMBAYAH, DDU-DU DDU-DU, and Kill This Love, among others.
In 2018, Jennie was the first from her band to debut solo. Rosé and Lisa then followed and released their singles in 2021. Now, Jisoo is the final member to pursue her solo music project.
Jisoo of BLACKPINK to debut solo this March
On their official account on Sunday, BLACKPINK revealed that Jisoo is set to embark on her solo debut. The teaser photos wrote “JISOO COMING SOON” with the numbers 2023.03.31 to indicate the date for the upcoming release.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment previously said that Jisoo would be filming overseas for the music video of her solo track. The 28-year-old idol and her agency are yet to unveil more information, including the overall debut concept.
Apart from music, Jisoo priorly ventured into acting in 2015 as a cameo in the drama, The Producers. She landed her first leading role in 2021 through the series Snowdrop, where she co-starred with actor Jung Hae-in.
Currently, BLACKPINK members are conducting their Born Pink world tour. They will perform in the Philippines on March 25-26.
