Bea Alonzo to star in Hollywood film produced by Manny Pacquiao
Bea Alonzo takes on the role of lead actress in the Hollywood film Angel Warrior under Inspire Studios.
In an article by Variety, the movie, executive produced by Manny Pacquiao, will have a late 2022 worldwide release.
Moreover, Angel Warrior will be based on historical facts and set in World War II.
Also, Alonzo will give life to Tara, a pre-war era Filipina who becomes an underground fighter after a near-death experience.
Variety further described her character, saying,
“Alonzo will portray Tala, a pre-war era Filipina whose near-death experience transforms her into an underground fighter aiding the poorly-equipped Filipino and American guerillas on the island of Panay that was part of the country’s resistance movement against the Japanese occupation during WWII,”
Inspire Studios founder and CEO Francis Lara Ho will produce Angel Warrior while John Shepherd will also executive produce alongside Pacquiao.
Moreover, Variety reports the movie will be presented at a Los Angeles event for Filipino-American History Month.
Principal photography of the film will begin in mid-2022.
Alonzo became known for her iconic roles in One More Chance, The Mistress, and The Love Affair, among others.
The film A Second Chance, where she starred alongside John Lloyd Cruz, became one of the highest-grossing Filipino films of all time.
In recent times, after years under ABS-CBN and Star Magic, she signed under GMA last July 2021.
Alonzo will also star in the PH adaptation of the film A Moment To Remember alongside Alden Richards.
Good luck with your new project, Bea! We cannot wait to see you transform into Tara!
