ALAMAT gifts fans new single this Valentine’s Day!
Rising Filipino boy band ALAMAT drops new single “ABKD” (read as a-ba-ka-da) this Heart’s Day at 6 p.m. Simultaneously, they are also celebrating their first debut anniversary!
The title for their new digital single was disclosed back in November last year during the celebration of their fandom’s first year anniversary. The group surprised MAGILIW with the announcement of ABKD, which is also their second collaboration with a Swedish music company, The Kennel, after their song “kasmala”.
Last February 5, the group released a video announcing their comeback date and the official launching of their new song. Three days before its scheduled release, they teased MAGILIW with an image containing a lyric spoiler, “Bayanihan Ikaw, Ako“.
Fresh faces of P-Pop
Additionally, ALAMAT is an 8-member Filipino sing-rap-dance boy group founded under Viva Artists Agency. They debuted on February 14, 2021. Their members are natives of different provinces in the Philippines; Taneo from Kalinga, Mo from Zambales, Jao from Pampanga, R-Ji from Eastern Samar, Valfer from Negros Occidental, Gami from Bohol, Tomas from Albay, and Alas from Davao City.
They combine both traditional and modern Filipino cultural elements with Western influences in the various facets of their music. And this also includes their concept of dance, fashion, and iconography.
Moreover, they sing and perform in as many as seven Philippine languages: Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bicolano, Waray-Waray, Hiligaynon, and Bisaya. Talk about versatility and diversity!
ABKD is now available on Youtube, Spotify, and other streaming services.
