What To Wear, According to Restaurant Dress Codes

As a way to boost my self-confidence, I’ve started volunteering to make reservations for me and my friends, and for me and my beau. However, when making reservations, there are many factors I needed to take into consideration. Of course, these include our diets, the type of cuisine we would want to eat, the possibility of us ordering cocktails, and so much more. But, there is one more thing that I wanted to take into consideration when I’m making reservations — the dress code.

What To Wear, According to Restaurant Dress Codes

Although I am always looking for a chance to dress up, I don’t feel like it. Sometimes, comfortable fashion is the key. But, dress codes continue to exist to deliver a refined atmosphere in restaurants. These range from casual to business casual to casual elegant to formal.

CASUAL

This is a little vague. But, in general, the casual dress code in restaurants basically meant that you have to look a little more elevated than you usually do when having dinner at home. Sure, it’s open to interpretation for everybody else but, I would advise not to wear head-to-toe activewear.

Aim for the effortlessly chic look that you can easily throw on and stroll out, looking supremely stylish. I recommend pairing a cropped cardigan with high-waisted mom jeans. Then, elevate the outfit with gold accessories, black sunglasses, black leather combat boots, and a purse in a similar fabric.

BUSINESS CASUAL

The term ‘business’ becomes an important addition to the category of this dress code. It’s easy to understand as it literally meant what you would typically wear to work. You might want to focus on chic pants to maintain a professional, appropriate, and elegant appearance.

It’s kind of like what you wear when taking a client out to lunch. I recommend a half-opened oversized white button-up, a pair of high-waisted dark-washed jeans, and a pair of platform loafers. Then, elevate the outfit with gold accessories and a red handbag for a pop of color.

CASUAL ELEGANT

You have to put an emphasis on the word ‘elegant’ in this dress code. It’s a fashion must when going on a dinner date, going on a lowkey brand event for work, or going on a somewhat fancy brunch with the girls. Go for a printed midi dress with a pair of kitten heels and gold accessories to fit the casual elegant theme. Make sure you have a mini cardigan just in case it gets chilly.

FORMAL

Now, this is the time when you have to dress to the absolute nines. This isn’t the daily fashionable look. Use this as an excuse to ditch your jeans, ditch your combat boots, and ditch your sweatpants. Wear that dress you’ve been hanging at the back of your wardrobe. Whip out your rhinestone accessories and fancy heels.
