Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood pregnant with fiirst child

Supergirl star Melissa Benoist is soon to become a ‘supermom’! Hollywood actress and her husband Chris Wood are expecting to have their first child together!

The 31-year-old actress announced the ‘super’ news via Instagram on Wednesday, sharing a picture of herself smiling while holding up an adorable blue long-sleeved baby shirt, alongside her spouse holding one of their pet dogs.

“A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!! 😱😆😭 @christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be a real one!” Melissa wrote in her caption.

Aside from that, Wood also posted a photo on his Instagram about the good news where Melissa can be seen hugging Wood from behind with a fake baby bump.

“The photo is a joke but the news is real…!!!” he wrote in a caption.

The good news came six months after the Supergirl couple tied the knot, in a private ceremony held at an estate in Ojai, California last September. In fact, they met on the set of ‘Supergirl’ in 2016 when Wood was cast as Mon-El, the love team of Melissa”s character, Kara. Among their guests were fellow stars Kevin Smith, Odette Annable, and Paul Wesley.

Sources said the ceremony was ‘beautiful, peaceful, and quiet.’

The couple started dating in 2017 after showing some PDAs at the beach in Cancun, Mexico.

Meanwhile, ‘Supergirl’ is currently in its the middle of its fifth season. It airs on CW, every Sunday at 7pm
