Summer is almost around the corner.

The warm air is slowly returning, making us long for the cool breeze of December.

But, of course, summer equals hot, hot, hot. Not only the weather but you in your swimsuit this summer vacay.

It also means we get to try out refreshing drinks that will quench our thirst even at home.

THE CLASSIC LEMONADE

When life gives you lemons, you gotta make some lemonade!

This drink is definitely perfect for summer and you can never go wrong with this.

With just water, lemon and sugar, you’re ready to beat the summer heat. This lemonade keeps well for about five days in the fridge, although it’s a good idea to give it a swift stir just before serving each time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup or 240ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • A cup of sugar
  • 1 quart or 1L of cold water

Instructions:

  • Juice the lemons and strain out the pulp.
  • Combine the lemon juice and sugar to make a lemonade base. Add the sugar to the strained lemon juice and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Pour cold water and chill.
  • Add ice to the glass and garnish with lemon slices. Serve and Enjoy!

LEMONADE WITH A TWIST

When you want a twist in your regular yellow lemonade, this one is for you.

Hot days call for homemade lemonade but with a new taste in your buds. Chill and relax with this refreshing Cucumber Lemonade!

If you want to add flavor to the drink, add mint leaves.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Cucumber seedless
  • A cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Liter of water
  • A cup of sugar
  • Mint Leaves (Optional)

Instructions:

  • Juice the lemons and strain out the pulp.
  • Dissolve the sugar with the lemon juice.
  • Cut the cucumber into slices and put it with water in the blender.
  • Add lemonade base and blend again.
  • Pour the mixture into pitcher.

6. Add mint leaves (optional)

7. Serve with ice.

USEFUL TIP (!): Before adding the mint, smack or clap it with your hand to release the flavor and aroma. Put it in the palm of one hand and clap using your other hand.

SOMETHING NEW FOR SUMMER: BAY BREEZE

This is a mocktail that you can easily make by just pouring the juices into the glass, stirring, and voila! This is refreshing and perfect while enjoying the summer breeze.

Ingredients:

  • Pineapple Juice 30ml
  • Cranberry Juice 90ml

Instructions:

  • Put the ice cubes in the glass first.
  • Pour the Cranberry Juice first and then add the Pineapple to make a layer of these two juices and then stir for a better taste. Garnish it with a lime wedge.
  • Enjoy and Chill.

FAMOUS SUMMER DRINK: VIRGIN PIÑA COLADA

Sometimes, that blazing summer heat makes you wanna chill with a frozen virgin strawberry daiquiri in hand.

Make your summer days refreshingly sweet with this one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small can of pineapple chunks juice
  • 12 oz of frozen strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons of superfine sugar
  • 1 pc freshly squeezed lime
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  • Add pineapple, frozen strawberries, sugar, and lime juice in a blender.
  • Puree until smooth.
  • Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh strawberries. Serve immediately.
