Ready to give up coffee? Try one of these types of tea instead

Coffee is addictive, and no doubt, if you’re one of those who became too dependent on it. And you might be trying to cut down your coffee intake due to health reasons, or perhaps you want to try something new that will shake up your morning routine. Whatever your reason, there are many healthier coffee alternatives you can indulge in – like tea.

Here are some types of tea to try without the side effects of the regular coffee you consume.

Black Tea

Black tea contains less caffeine but still offers an energy boost. However, the caffeine content may vary depending on how you prepare it. Contrary to the immediate energy you get from coffee, this may give a long-lasting energy boost and focus. If you want to decrease your coffee consumption, swap your first coffee cup for a cup of this. Making a switch will be more effortless because the taste of it is almost similar to coffee, unlike other types out there.

Matcha Green Tea

Matcha is a good and healthy substitute for coffee. This powdered green tea comes from the Camelia Sinensis plant, and others prepared this in the Japanese method. Pure matcha is packed with health benefits and will give you an instant energy boost, antioxidants, and amino acids. Additionally, this contains roughly a third of the caffeine content that will provide you with a caffeine spike like when drinking coffee. Usually, it takes up to a few hours for the body to absorb the caffeine from matcha which also keeps the body energized longer.

Lemon Tea

Another healthy alternative coffee you can try is Lemon tea. For the preparation, mix Lemon tea with black tea, and you can add honey to improve its taste. Besides, the citrus flavor of lemon tea and its strong scent are effective mood enhancers. Drinking this can make you feel awake and refreshed. So choosing something fruity yet will pick you up, consider making lemon tea. It will refresh you as soon as you take a sip.

Ginger Tea

Similar to coffee, Ginger is a natural stimulant because of its properties and flavor. You can make this by infusing ginger in hot water for a few minutes; after that, starts to enjoy its warming and its mild spicy flavor. Drink this any time, but it is also good as a pick-me-up first thing in the morning. There’s evidence that the consumption of ginger helps increase the secretion of adrenal catecholamine, which affects energy levels.
