Preen and Polish: The Real Deal with The Modern Gentleman Workshop Series

Myckee Arcano renowned celebrity make up artist and hairstylist elevates the room of Studio LAJ with The Modern Gentleman: Men’s Grooming Essentials, his first-ever workshop for men’s grooming.
LAJ Productions’ The Modern Gentleman is a workshop series that helps men cultivate their confidence through proper polishing, and hands-on hairstyling. From simple techniques that reveal the gentleman within, it is a space where confidence meets craftsmanship.
Hosted by Myckee Arcano, along with their brand partners Issy Cosmetics, Rom&nd, Grafen, Laura Mercier, and Gatsby, this workshop is a space where confidence meets craftsmanship.

The Modern Gentleman
Another generation means another beauty standard. In this modern world, it is a high-time to highlight men’s beauty, even their simplest effortless looks, through the help of this workshop’s viable, expert guidance.
This workshop features three essentials to equip: skin prep and base techniques, men’s make up, and hairstyling. It follows a smooth order from gentle skin prep and hydration to proper makeup application, and hands-on hairstyling. After application, there is also a photoshoot for on and off camera testing.
In a personal interview with Myckee Arcano, he shared his vision and goals on conducting this workshop.
“Creating a workshop dedicated to men’s hair and men’s grooming, I think it’s high-time to really highlight the gentlemen of the Philippines. Kumbaga this time, it’s not just how they do things, it’s time to elevate how they apply makeups and hair products. I feel like it is time for the boys na magkaroon ng limelight, kasi everytime na magkakaroon ng masterclass, it is all about and all for women only.”
Lifting Looks, Cultivating Confidence
Four gentlemen elevate their looks in this workshop. These include Marcel David, Paul Justine, and Lex Santos and Rave Herrera of P-Pop Boy Group All or Nothing.

Lex shared his experience upon taking this masterclass. As someone believing in the art of makeup, this helped him to be keen on details. Especially, “every person has a different face shape, shade, and texture.”

Jarod Ricafort and Elijah Reden are the models of this masterclass.
Jarod mentioned that this workshop is “destigmatizing,” especially for the guys ashamed of elevating their looks “because of the stigma that makeup is only for women.”
The first wave of The Modern Gentlemen has been remarkable and impactful for attendees and models. It highlighted the essence of high-quality looks with minimal usage and application of products. To our modern gentlemen, it’s time to lift your looks, cultivate confidence, be preen and polish.
