Philippines withdraws from Miss Elite 2023
In an unexpected turn of events, the Philippines will be dropping out from participating in Miss Elite 2023. Through a statement released on May 4, Miss Elite Philippines announces that it will not send a representative to the competition.
Miss Elite 2023 will be happening on May 19 in Soma Bay in Egypt.
Philippines withdraws from Miss Elite 2023
Last March, the organization appointed Chella Falconer as the country’s representative to the pageant. An overall strong candidate, Chella could have easily won the country its first Miss Elite crown.
Furthermore, the statement also discloses that a new queen will be chosen by a new franchise owner. In 2021, Miss Elite Philippines was acquired by Hiyas ng Pilipinas under its national director, Eva Patalinjug. This led to the crowning of Miss Elite Philippines 2022 Azriel Coloma.
However, due to internal conflicts within Hiyas ng Pilipinas, Azriel’s journey to the crown never came into fruition.
As of this writing, the identity of the new franchise owner of Miss Elite Philippines remains unknown. Now that Binibining Pilipinas has only two titles remaining, fans are starting to wonder that it might be them.
