No swimsuit competition for The Miss Philippines Pageant
In a social media post on August 28, The Miss Philippines states it is not the ‘usual pageant’ we typically see. By eliminating the swimsuit round, they aim to reinvent pageantry by coming up with events unlike any other.
Following this change, the organization will be introducing newer and exciting segments such as a Cannes red carpet-inspired formal wear competition as well as speeches done in a Ted Talks format.
Furthermore, they will continue to uphold their mission of showcasing the country’s culture and heritage throughout the pageant. Specifically, putting on an emphasis on how the candidates will promote the Philippines to the rest of the world.
The Miss Philippines is set to become the country’s latest national pageant, selecting its representatives for both Miss Supranational and Miss Charm. With its competition happening on October, applications and screenings are currently open.
