Nadine Lustre, ‘Deleter’ reigns MMFF 2022 Gabi ng Parangal
The Nadine Lustre-starred horror-thriller flick “Deleter” is the biggest gainer at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022’s Gabi ng Parangal.
“Deleter” is the only horror entry on this year’s edition of MMFF. It follows the story of Lyra, a desensitized employee of a moderation office tasked with filtering unsettling content online. Upon deleting the suicide video of her co-worker, Lyra’s troubling past and trauma disturb her.
Additionally, Lustre starred alongside Louise Delos Reyes and McCoy De Leon for this project.
In total, the movie took home eight titles, including the most coveted Best Picture and Best Cinematography. It also clinched the Best Sound, Best Visual Effect, and Best Editing awards.
Aside from the film, Nadine Lustre won big by snatching two recognitions. The 28-year-old multimedia icon received the Best Actress and the Star of the Night titles.
Furthermore, Mikhail Red was recognized as the Best Director. Some of his past remarkable works are “Birdshot,” “Dead Kids,” and “Eerie,” all driven by inch-resting plots while touching on relevant social issues.
On the other hand, some artists who also left victorious after the MMFF 2022 night include the Best Actor recipient Ian Veneracion for Nanahimik Ang Gabi. His co-star, Mon Confiado, was named the Best Supporting Actor.
The dubbed “stars for all seasons” and Philippines’ cinematic diva Vilma Santos-Recto bagged the Marichu Vera-Perez Memorial Award.
