Megan Young Leads First Esports Benefit Battle for LGBTQ Community
It’s no secret that Miss World 2013 Megan Young has beauty and grace, but one thing that sets her apart from other queens is her passion for gaming. Her gamer status is a badge that she proudly wears, as seen on her different social media pages.
This Pride month, Megan Young brings together her love for gaming and her advocacy for the LGBTQIA community through VersUs: The TaskUs Battles.
The actress and up-and-coming game streamer expressed her thoughts on her Instagram account. “I’ve been vocal about my desire to use my influence as an ally to advocate equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.”
“I’ve been learning about HIV awareness and I want to help end the stigma surrounding these conversations,” said Megan.
Megan Young: A Battle for Pride
VersUs: The TaskUs Battles is going to be a celebration of passion and purpose. Megan will go head to head with Red Fernandez, a TaskUs employee and Mobile Legends expert, as they battle it out in a Mobile Legends tournament. The event not only aims to test Megan’s gaming prowess versus Red’s expertise; the ultimate goal is to raise funds for LoveYourself, an organization that empowers individuals to embrace their self-worth while bringing proper awareness to HIV testing.
LoveYourself is near and dear to both players. Megan is an active LGBTQIA ally, while Red is a LoveYourself volunteer HIV counselor. The funds raised from the exhibition game will be used for the delivery of HIV test kits and essential antiretroviral medicines (ARVs) to LoveYourself clients.

VersUs: The TaskUs Battles, in partnership with Metro Manila Pride, is the first esports fundraiser for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The benefit game is powered by TaskUs, a next-generation customer experience and content moderation company. Championing its people-first culture, TaskUs takes pride in its stand for diversity and inclusion. In fact, the company is unafraid to incorporate policies that matter, such as having all-gender bathrooms, and providing HMO benefits for partners of LGBTQIA+ employees and maximum health coverage for employees living with HIV.
