Meet the 2022 Mutya ng Pilipinas Queens
A new set of ‘Home Town’ girls has finally been crowned! The 52nd edition of Mutya ng Pilipinas made a successful comeback with its culmination happening last Sunday. Taking place at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan, 37 candidates competed for seven titles.
Shining above the competition, Bataan’s Iona Gibbs emerges victorious, winning the top crown as Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022. The 18-year-old Filipino-Canadian Singer and Songwriter also won the special award, Best in Long Gown.
Inheriting the crown from Mutya ng Pilipinas 2019 Klyza Castro, Iona’s international pageant is yet to be determined. However, she is expected to represent the country at the next edition of Miss Asia Pacific International.
In addition to Iona, three other queens also got their crowns. Arianna Padrid of Northern California for Mutya ng Pilipinas-World Top Model. Jeanette Reyes of Camarines Sur for Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International. And, Jesi Cruz of California for Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities.
Meanwhile, Shannon Robinson of Makati, Megan Campbell of Lapu-Lapu City, and Marcelyn Bautista of Tarlac City complete the winning circle as runners-up. Bestowing to them are the titles Mutya ng Pilipinas Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, respectively.
The pageant was hosted by Actor Marco Gumabao. Working alongside him are News Achor Gretchen Fullido and Klyza Castro.
Congratulation to all the queens! May this be the start of an amazing reign.
